Who we are and what we offer
Ground Roots Nature Therapy promote health and wellbeing through nature based provision and projects in Cheshire and North Wales. Debbie has over 30 years experience in social work, teaching, forest school, youth and community work. Debbie merges eco therapy, mindfulness and sound relaxation into the services she offers which promote health and wellbeing.
We offer group work or 1-1 sessions that build upon the growing evidence based research that activities in the natural environment can have a significant impact on keeping people healthy and improving wellbeing. Ground Roots Nature Therapy uses preventative and non-medicalised care, through social prescribing and social forestry accessing green spaces for the benefit of wellbeing.
Wellbeing Workshops
Drawing upon her social work degree and teaching qualification Debbie facilitates workshops that bring a fusion of stress management techniques, training in resilience at work, change management and mental health awareness in the workplace which will help improve your employee’s health, promote engagement and increase staff productivity.

Eco Therapy and Mindfulness
in the Outdoors
Debbie is qualified in Leading Mindfulness and Eco Therapy in the Outdoors. The guided 1-1 or group activities support individuals to develop a balanced relationship with nature, benefitting their health & wellbeing. We have created an 8-week programme called Pathways to Change which can be adapted to suit different levels of mobility and fitness and is rooted in Forest Bathing and Shinrin Yoku research led practice.
Sound Bath Sessions
Debbie is qualified with The College of Sound Healing as a Gong Practitioner and delivers sound bath sessions either 1-1 or in group settings. A Sound Bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience that intentionally uses sound to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to NURTURE YOUR MIND AND BODY. The weaving together of nature and sound using the gong and other instruments supports relaxation and meditation. The gong can help soothe, relax and restore energy.

Forest School
Debbie is a qualified Forest School practitioner with over 13 years’ experience delivering Forest School which is an inspirational creative process which builds confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment. Planting the Seed Programme is an 8 week sensory forest school programme for small or larger groups of children, young people and adults.
